Welcome to the Home of World Champion
Dear Students and Parents,
My name is Grand Master C.J. Park, the 2003 U.S. Taekwondo National Team Head Coach, Eighth-Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, and former Welterweight World Taekwondo Champion. I would like to invite you to come and join me on one of the most rewarding positive and life-changing journeys you will ever experience here at World Champion Taekwondo.
The journey that you will experience here at World Champion Taekwondo will be like an eagle learning to fly. Once it learns to fly with control, balance, discipline, and strength, it is the king of the sky. But, when a baby eagle is very young, it must learn how to fly from its mother.
You see, eagles build their nest on high cliffs and in tall trees. The great heights at which the eagles build their nests represents the highest level of achievement that one can achieve in a life which focuses on good-eating, exercise, discipline, respect, and self-control.
Eagle nests are built of thorns on the outside and soft grasses and feathers on the inside. When the baby eagle starts to flap its wings, it begins to push the soft grasses and feathers out of the nest and is eventually left with a bed of uncomfortable and painful thorns. Now is the time for one of the most amazing events in nature to begin.
Believe it or not, when no more soft material is left inside the nest, the mother eagle actually begins kicking the baby eagle out of nest of thorns. Scared and frightened, the baby eagles fall toward the ground. At the last moment, the father eagle flies under the falling baby and catches him on his back. Then, the father eagle sours back up to the nest to deliver the baby eagle back to the nest.
For weeks, the mother and father keep doing the same thing until the baby eagle finally flaps his wings enough to fly on his own. It is only when the baby eagle begins to learn to fly that he truly begins to become what all eagles are created to be: "Kings and Queens of the Sky!"
And, so it is that even though eagles are born to be eagles, they still have to learn to live like eagles. They have to work hard to reach their full potential and glory. They have to open their hearts and accept by faith that they will be able to do greater and more wonderful things in the days, weeks, months, and years to come. And, one glorious day, they will be able to fly!
Like eagles, we too have to learn many things to reach our full potential and live as we ought to live. There is a time when we must be challenged to leave the comfort of our nests and open our hearts (like the wings of an eagle) to be and do greater and more wonderful things for ourselves and for others.
At World Champion Taekwondo, we will challenge you to open your hearts and minds like the wings of an eagle. We will teach you to become more in touch with the person God created you to be. And, we will help you focus your heart and mind on the physical disciplines and philosophical teachings that have helped millions and millions of people reach their fullest potential through the study of martial arts for over 2000 years.
